The Miracle League of Pensacola Mission & Vision

Mission Statement

To provide opportunities for disabled individuals with physical and cognitive challenges to participate in recreational activities in an accessible, non-competitive environment.

To give families / caregivers the opportunity to participate in a program which supports:

Physical Benefits – Reduced risk for secondary conditions related to being sedentary, maintain muscle strength, improve flexibility and joint function.

Social Benefits – Chance to learn teamwork, increase overall social skills, and acceptance by the community.

Psychological Benefits – Helps develop self-esteem, promotes and increases independence, and improve coping abilities.

Value Proposition

The Players – Every person deserves a chance to play baseball. Guided by a sense of teamwork, sportsmanship, integrity, commitment, and community, The Miracle League of Pensacola (MLP) provides physically and mentally challenged individuals a safe and spirited program in which they can hit, run, and catch on a baseball field – just like other players. MLP provides a unique and memorable opportunity that these individuals would not otherwise have. We at MLP do not see a players’ disability but their ABILITY!

The Community – Rainer Maria Rilke, a German lyric poet at the turn of the 20th century, wrote: “This is the miracle that happens every time to those who really love; the more they give, the more they possess.” Watch a Miracle League game from the bleachers and you will be moved as you have never been moved at any other athletic event. It will be unforgettable, and you will be glad you were there. Then you will want to come back. Then you will want to do whatever you can to help.
